From October 2008 Display Energy Certificates including an Advisory Report are required for all buildings occupied by public authorities or institutions providing public services and visited by the public with a total useful floor area over 1,000m2.
The RegulationIn accordance with the Energy Performance of Buildings (Certificates and Inspections) (England and Wales) Regulations 2007 all buildings with a floor area over 1,000m2 occupied by public authorities or institutions providing public services must have a Display Energy Certificate. Display Energy Certificate (DEC)A) This must state: i) The operational rating ii) The asset rating In ways approved by the Secretary of State under Regulation 17A of the Building Regs. 2000.
Advisory ReportsAn Advisory Report will be issued by our Accredited Energy Assessor after they have inspected the building. It will contain recommendations for improvement of the energy performance of the building by payback over the following periods : - SoftwareThe data is entered into the OR Approved Software which will produce the DEC and the Advisory Report in an approved format. These are issued in PDF format allowing printing of the DEC for display. Annual Repeat DECThe DEC must be renewed each year and will require the energy data to be re-entered into the OR software and the Certificates re-issued.
