Project: Multi-facet Consultancy Services
Client: Kajima Corporation/Embassy of Japan
Year: 2011
Survey Type: Stock Condition/Fire Risk Assessment/Asbestos Management Surveys
Project size: 80,000sqft

The Oakleaf Group’s ability to deal with complex multi faceted projects was again proven with a detailed series of surveys carried out at 101-104 Piccadilly, London, the current location of the Embassy of Japan. Liaising closely with both Kajima, Kajima FM and the Embassy of Japan’s key staff Oakleaf we able to survey the building with minimum disruption to Embassy Staff and deliver the final reports both on time and to meet the Embassy’s strict requirements. The project was complicated both by the historic nature of the premises but the sensitive operations that are carried out within the Embassy with the production of detailed floor by floor programmes an integral part of the project’s success.
Whilst the Embassy is Sovereign Japanese soil UK legislation was used throughout the project at the request of the Embassy to ensure compatibility with local contractors and fire authorities. Subsequently explaining the quirks of UK legislation was one of the more enjoyable as aspects of the project.
