Project: BSF and Building Surveying Consultancy

Client: Buckinghamshire County Council (Ed. Dept.)

Year: 2009 to 2011

Survey Type: Stock Condition Survey and IFRS Survey

Project size: 4,200,000sqft

The Oakleaf Group carried out a complete review of the entire Buckinghamshire County Council’s Secondary School Building stock condition over a six-month period in Spring 2009. Whilst the specification was designed to meet the Building Schools for the Future criteria the project enabled Oakleaf to develop a working relationship not only with the County Council but also many individual schools. As Oakleaf began the process of revisiting the schools in 2011 the prioritised investment enabled by the reports is clearly apparent.

In the Spring of 2011, Oakleaf were again appointed to carry out a rebuild valuation exercise at ten specially chosen sites intended to represent the complete variety of the Council’s building stock. Oakleaf surveyed the properties and built cost models from the base up all within a tight 6-week deadline to enable the Council to meet their internal reporting standards.
